The basic control strategy of a constant pressure water supply control system is to use an electric motor speed control device and a programmable logic controller (PLC) to form a control system, optimize the speed control operation of the pump group, and automatically adjust the number of pump groups to complete closed-loop control of water supply pressure, achieving stable water supply pressure and energy conservation when the flow rate of the pipeline network changes. The control objective of the system is the outlet pressure of the pump station main pipe. The set feedwater pressure value of the system is compared with the actual feedback main pipe pressure value, and the difference is input into the CPU for calculation and processing. A control command is issued to control the number of pump motors put into operation and the speed of the variable pump motors, so as to achieve stable pressure at the set pressure value.

At present, the motor speed control devices used in automatic constant pressure water supply systems all use AC frequency conversion technology, and the control devices of the system use PLC controllers or dedicated water supply control systems. PLC is widely used in some high standard control systems because it can not only achieve logical control of pump groups and valves, but also complete digital PID adjustment functions of the system, real-time monitoring of various operating parameters and control points in the system, and complete functions such as CRT screen display, fault alarm, and printing reports of system operating conditions.
